From a local program in Port St. Lucie Florida to a National program now serving many in need around the country. Work Certified is a simple program based on recruitment. Create the best possible employee for an employment opportunity, give individuals the credentials and teach them how to get a job, keep a job and get promoted and to satisfy the employer they are working for. Since the beginning of the Work Certified program in 2000, educators have been making suggestions to keep Work Certified relevant to today's workforce issues. We have been listening and update our program regularly.
Work Certified does not operate like Work Keys, the National Work Readiness Credential and other such programs, employers have instructed us that they do not want an assessment, they do not want an on-line training program that cannot teach important skills such as work ethics, they want a classroom training program that introduces individuals to the world of work. Being work ready does not mean, I passed an assessment, it does not mean I took an on-line class, it means I have been in a classroom where I learned about work ethics, I know how to work as a team mate, I have gained self-esteem and have motivation. As a job seeker and employee I know how to get a job, keep the job and how to get promoted. As an employer I can hire someone I know has soft skills, understands their responsibilities as an employee, has good work ethics and wants to be promoted.
